About Our Dogs and Cats
All pets accepted into our rescue will be vetted before adoption. They are examined by a licensed veterinarian, vaccinated, dewormed, de-flead and spayed/neutered before adoption. We participate in a pediatric spay/neuter program at our veterinary clinic and pets as young as 10 weeks of age are altered, and they heal remarkably fast. All cats and kittens will be tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLv) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). We cannot accept positive felines at this time. All dogs and puppies are started on heartworm prevention and those over six months of age are Heartworm and Lyme disease tested. We expect prospective adopters to keep us this same standard of care.
Adoption includes:
- Spay or Neuter surgery
- Vaccinations
- FeLv (Feline Leukemia) and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus testing
- Dogs/Puppies receive Heartworm prevention while with us
- Those dogs in our care that are over six months will be tested for Lyme Disease and Heartworm
